Venue Type:
Luxury 5-star country retreat in the Cotswolds

The need:
This wonderful manor house, part of the Iconic Hotels Group, suffers from a common problem with many historic venues – the layout of the kitchen in relation to the various bars and restaurants. The Lygon Arms wanted to maximise the amount of time staff were visible and attending customers, whilst ensuring orders were collected and delivered promptly.

The solution:
One Dinggly calling tablet is located at the Main pass, and another at the Pastry pass. When an order is ready for collection the pass just tap what the order relates too – Grill, Bar & Lounge, Wine Bar or Afternoon Tea. They can also add text messages to the order, or just text a server by name.

Waiting staff have pagers and login by name and their role that day. This way they are not bombarded with irrelevant calls. They can swipe to accept order collection, removing it from the collection list and notifying other team members. Plus the collectors name also appears on the tablet, giving reassurance somebody is on their way.

“We love it. It’s a really flexible, well thought-through system and at busy times it comes into its own” Michael Pearson, Food & Beverage Manager
